Deepak Chopra Debate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sam Harris great as usual.<\/p>\n<p>Deepak Chopra suffers from:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; poor definition of terms and semantic trickery thru loose meanings<br \/>\n&#8211; lack of understanding of subject-object co-emergence<br \/>\n&#8211; likely developmental emergence in general<\/p>\n<p>I have come to understand and appreciate legitimate post-mythical redefinitions of the term &#8220;God&#8221;. But what Deepak Chopra is championing is certainly not that.<\/p>\n<p>Most of what Deepak values: creativity, inspiration, empathy etc. can be explained or is en route to being explained by science.<\/p>\n<p>For what Deepak is championing imbuing consciousness with metaphysical qualities is completely unnecessary.<\/p>\n<p>He should just stay in the subject\/intersubjective realm and not try to posit psuedo-scientific explanations for his phenomenological experiences. He&#8217;s not very good at it.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Sam Harris with his new project Waking Up looks to be one of the leading champions of a scientifically consistent, post-metaphysical contemplative practice suited for westerners.
