\n“Three immediate reactions:<\/p>\n

1. Selfishly hoping that those I love are okay.<\/p>\n

2. Remembering that this kind of terror happens every time our country drops a bomb on Pakistan, killing civilians & children.<\/p>\n

3. Feeling grateful that we were as lucky as we were.<\/p>\n

Why were we lucky? The lunatic didn’t have plutonium.<\/p>\n

There’s a great deal of it missing. And it’s likely a matter of time before somebody uses it in this way.<\/p>\n

The question is: will we be prepared for the aftermath?<\/p>\n

Nobody wants to think about this sort of thing… but maybe on days like today, people will realize the powder keg we sit on as a species. There’s just a little chemistry between 30 deaths and 3 million.<\/p>\n

This isn’t alarmism or doomsdayism. It’s realism. And the response isn’t to be afraid… the response is to work as hard as we can to build systems that will allow us to rebound from something a million times worse than today’s bombing.<\/p>\n

Starting with:
\n-mesh networks
\n-networked democracy
\n-locally self-sufficient food, water & energy
\n-local economies
\n-stronger communities<\/p>\n

And I’ll throw one more perspective into the mix for the call for more Transformational Entrepreneurs… [i.e. entrepreneurs who build technology to make us more resilient, or syntropic]\n

Are the entrepreneurs who are building technology to help people take photos of sushi developmentally capable of understanding complex systems with enough precision to design solutions to solve its problems?<\/p>\n

It is likely many are not.<\/p>\n

And it is also clear that many people who *are* working on solving complex problems like terrorism and poverty, don’t have the requisite cognitive developmental capacity to create viable solutions for problems embedded in complex systems (i.e. a solid portion of most social entrepreneurs)<\/p>\n

To deal with this problem, we need accurate psychometric tests for entrepreneurs to determine whether they have the cognitive developmental capacity to solve the problems they are working on. And if they don’t…the training programs to enable them to develop that capacity.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, I know some people who may be able to do this assessment and training soon wink emoticon<\/u><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
