Tradition! Tradition!<\/p>\n

A surprisingly large percentage of the republican party still subscribes to this agriculturally initiated value system.<\/p>\n

But this is actually a wonderful exploration of healthy Traditionalism.
\nIt’s important to talk about healthy and unhealthy states for each developmental value system.<\/p>\n

Traditions are ways of encoding habits and routines that work for survival.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately those traditions needed to be encoded with the omnipotent Father Figure of God for people to accept them.<\/p>\n

Just ask Freud about the father complex.<\/p>\n

At the time, fallaciously believing in the “Old Man in the Sky” was a necessary sacrifice, but now that belief has far too many destructive consequences in a globally interconnected world.<\/p>\n

Fortunately traditionalism is dying a fast death because traditionalism sucks at adapting in a world of accelerating change!<\/p>\n

So it needs to be appropriately shrunken down to pea size in its global-macro influence.<\/p>\n

We must understand that humans are successful agents in a complex adaptive system.
\nBut formerly adaptive agents die if they don’t change their habits when the system changes.<\/p>\n

But we shouldn’t get rid of all of Traditionalism.<\/p>\n

Traditionalism does have two very important values that have been lost in the ensuing value systems of Modernism and Post-Modernism.<\/p>\n

And now in the cresting Integral Value system we must bring them back!<\/p>\n

The two core values are Faith and Purpose.<\/p>\n

Faith that is scientifically consistent and “trans-rational” based on bold hypotheses, extrapolation and testable speculative philosophy.<\/p>\n

Purpose that is aligned with the direction of the kosmos.<\/p>\n

Following, I will rewrite two Traditional statements from this video in Collective-Integral Values (Or Turquoise not Yellow\u2026Yellow is only in touch with “interior faith” and completely out of touch with “purpose”):
\n“And because of our traditions everyone of us knows who he is and what God expects him to do”<\/p>\n

“And because of systemic purpose everyone of us knows who we are and what the system needs us to do to further its evolutionary development”<\/p>\n

“Without tradition our life would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof”<\/p>\n
