But economic systems are more significant.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore the economic system is &#8220;elevated above&#8221; the biosphere.<\/p>\n<p>But that does not mean the biosphere does not matter. Because it is a fundamental system economics is built on top of, it means we must take care of it or our economic system will collapse.<\/p>\n<p>Another way of seeing this is that in the event of economic collapse the biosphere would be just fine.
