Goal Setting’s Delicate Balance

Be careful how you set your goals.

Set your goals too open endedly and you’ll likely get lost in the chaotic tides of life, as your daily actions do not move in concert and coordination towards any destination.

“Never mistake activity for productivity.”
Jim Rohn

Set your goals with too much specificity and you may sail to quickly to a suboptimal destination, as the inspired focus of your daily actions blinds you from recognizing and assimilating new information that indicate bigger and better opportunities.

“I was seldom able to see an opportunity until it had ceased to be one.”
Mark Twain

Set too many goals with unclear prioritization and corresponding energy allocation and you’ll be a whirling dervish, running circles, feeling productive, when you’re losing a significant portion of your energy as useless, aimless heat.

“The man who chases two rabbits catches none.”
Confucius

Goals have a powerful effect on the subconscious mind.

Use goals to program your subconscious mind suboptimally and some of your potential will be lost.

Use goals to program your subconscious mind optimally and your life will grow faster with greater vitality than it ever has before.
