Had a great talk with Wojciech Gryc a few days ago about the developmental trajectory of high growth software products.
We discussed the synthetic combination of bottom up Machine Learning methods (Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning etc.) with top down Semantic Modeling techniques (Systems Theory, Integrated AQAL systems) and how a proper proportion of both is rarely implemented.
Focusing particularly on what the role of “the expert” is in the future of automated intelligent systems.
My perspective is until we’ve learned to create non-biological systems that have a semantic understanding of the world and can create and manipulate abstractions in the same way the human mind can (AKA pass the Turing Test) the most powerful artificially intelligent systems will include the human expert in the process.
Where man’s strengths and machine’s strengths intertwine in indistinguishable intertwined symbiotic love.
Excited my life has fallen into the position to be working on building these powerful, purposeful, loving intelligent systems that can accelerate the potential of humanity.
