Systemic, Holistic Medicine

It is awesome to have such a holistic chiropractor.

Working with him is like an episode of House, without the melodrama.

When I was out dancing two weeks ago, I was showing off my 3+ foot vertical and landed on a spilled drink and hurt my leg.

I correctly self-diagnosed the injury as my fibula popping out of alignment.

I went to see my chiropractor a week later and he confirmed the diagnosis and snapped it back into place. No pain.

I also asked him what I could do to treat the extremely painful corn on my foot. Immediately he recognized my misdiagnosis: this was not a corn, although it did have a callus, it was a plantar wart.

A few days later my fibula again popped out of alignment during my morning warm up.

Yesterday, in my follow up treatment we figured out that it is all connected.

The pain from the plantar wart was causing the muscles around my shin to shut off and to not hold the bone in place as it should. Low impact bending and twisting easily knocked it back out of alignment.

Solution: try to treat the plantar wart with a homeopathic remedy, resort to liquid nitrogen if that fails and hold off on chiropractic adjustments till my foot is pain free and can hold the realignment.

It is amazing to have a doctor who can think in systems and adapt to real problems he hasn’t seen before.

If only everyone we worked with was so enlightened.

Adaptation. Systems thinking. Holistic perspective.

The way forward.
