Ugh…I don’t know if Max Tegmark is clueless when it comes to consciousness but at least the author who tried to describe his work is.

By and large it’s a good of rule of thumb to not trust a physicist on matters of consciousness.

Or a chemist, a biologist or most neuroscientists for that matter!

Two fundamental concepts someone must get before any of their ideas about consciousness should be taken seriously:

1) Subject-Object irreducibility
2) Emergence & Complex Systems

Oh and if they haven’t stabilized non-dual awareness in their own consciousness through extensive meditative practice all of their insights are probably contaminated with observer bias.

But if they’ve met those 3 conditions and as a bonus identify as a mystic, well then maybe you should listen to what they have to say.
